How it started and how it's going

Who starts a sock brand in Spring in Australia?

Well, I do.

It's not ideal and I knew that. But I was also *so* excited to launch my socks. And so I did. And it was great and we built excitement and a following and a small email list. And then summer came and honestly - who buys socks in summer? Not me.

So, behind the scenes we have been burrowing away and building our retail reach and working on our actual proper launch for the cooler months and actual sock wearing weather.

It's funny, I own a business - you may or may not have heard of it - it's called Feel Better Box. Now with this one, it was a marathon not a sprint. It was a sell-one-carepackage-a-month in the start. And I mean in the first 6 months. And then even after the first year I didn't sell more then 154 care packages that year. Yet here I was thinking that I would be selling hundreds if not thousands of socks in the soft launch. Did I loose my marbles somewhere?

The truth is, my socks are awesome, and I received the best feedback from everyone. However other then my friends - no one has heard of an awesome sock brand called Joode. And they sure as hell don't want to buy them for themselves when the tempreature dial is swinging to 30c. Even in Melbourne!

And so, when people ask me how it's going - I say it's not. Joode has been having a little snooze whilst we hustle behind the scenes and gear up to ramp this show up again in Autumn.

I don't know what this year will look like - but my reality dial has swung in that it wont be in the weekly hundreds and thousands in sales (dreaming). But maybe it will one day. I know it's not a sprint, it's just my heart *really really* wants it to be.
